Self-reclosing pressure venting device

DE1/DE1-FS

Our DE1 series is a purely mechanical pressure venting system, which was developed to address some problematic situations quite common in industrial plants, but lacking really proper solutions so far. It protects enclosed spaces, containers or housings against damage caused by pressure rises due to vaporization, minor deflagration or other events not to be classified as explosions in terms of Directive 2014/34/EU. The DE1-FS version, which is fitted with an additional flame arrester, is available for areas where there is a potential risk of fire.

 

Various protective functions conveniently combined in one compact device:

the simple but meticulously developed design specifically addresses the needs presented to us by plant operators from different industries.

Scope of application

 

The DE1/DE1-FS system is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, also in adverse environments (e.g. major changes in temperature, wind, precipitation). It can be installed in almost any position, either by mounting it in front of the wall opening or by integrating it into the wall to save space.

 

Potential applications include:

  • transformer rooms
  • paint spray booths
  • containers in biogas plants
  • machine housings

 

 

Full thermal insulation

 

  • very low thermal loss (e.g. in buildings)
  • only minor temperature increase on the surface, i.e. no risk of injury caused by contact
  • inside temperature up to 600°C → outside temperature below 80°C
  • suitable for hot material flow
  • no water condensation

 

 

Effective sealing system

 

Excellent tightness, even at high operating temperatures, was achieved by elaborately combining a variety of sealing materials.

  • completely dust-proof
  • almost gas-tight (leakage < 0.2 m³/h)
  • smoke-tight acc. to EN 1634-3

  • Vacuum stability: up to 200 mbar / 20,000 Pa
  • Opening pressure: default setting by manufacturer from 10 to 100 mbar (g)
  • Opening path of the venting covers: ≤ 120 mm
  • Venting efficiency: the required number of devices is individually determined for each application by rexotec (based on plant and material data and by using tests and flow simulation, if appropriate).
  • Dimensions: according to drawing

DE1-FS version with flame arrester

 

If the prevention of flame emission is required in addition to pressure venting, our DE1-FS pressure venting device, which includes an integrated flame arrester, is the right choice.

The relevant module has proved its outstanding properties already as one of the components of our scubex® series.

 

We recommend to use the DE1-FS version for pressure venting whenever there is a potential source of fire, particularly in the context of structural fire protection.

The dimensions remain unchanged.

 

 

 

 

Safety tested acc. to Machinery Directive

 

Our competence and experience in the field of explosion protection plus an extensive programme of calculations, tests and trials (in cooperation with accredited testing institutes, where appropriate) guarantee the safe and reliable functionality of the DE1/DE1-FS pressure venting device.

 

Since mid-2018, the system has been successfully working in several industrial plants.

Based on measured data, we used a flow simulation programme to calculate and visualize conditions such as the propagation rate and direction of a pressure wave as well as the pressure or temperature resulting at various points. The picture shows that the pressure wave released after the opening of the venting covers primarily spreads out along the outer surface of the protected vessel, almost nothing is released into the surrounding area. The risk of damage to property or injury is significantly reduced.
